Quarterly releases from Epic cause release delays
Epic, an electronic health record, releases quarterly. For a large academic medical center managing inpatient, ambulatory, oncology, and revenue cycle workflows, that means hundreds of validations required every few months — without a single hour of production disruption.
While the hospital managed it well. Every upgrade was treated as a custom event, with available analysts executing tests manually on nights and weekends. Pass/fail criteria varied by tester, evidence capture was inconsistent, and compliance stakeholders had no authoritative audit trail. When defects slipped through to production, the result was emergency patches and clinical disruption that the organization could not afford.
UiPath Test Suite x Electronic Health Record Readiness Solution
TQA designed an end-to-end program on UiPath Test Suite and Azure DevOps. The architecture was built around a deliberate governance decision: UiPath Test Manager orchestrates test execution, while Micro Focus Quality Center — the organization’s existing test management platform, already trusted by audit and compliance teams — was retained as the single pass/fail source of record.
Rather than replacing a system that housed years of institutional test assets and regulatory history, TQA built around it. That decision preserved stakeholder trust, met compliance expectations, and avoided the costs and risks of a wholesale tooling migration.
A four-cycle governance framework standardized how tests are written, executed, and adjudicated across every Epic release. Every change is now traceable from code commit to the final result.
The Results
The hours analysts spent on repetitive manual execution are now automated. Reporting that previously took two to three days takes minutes. Evidence that compliance teams waited days to assemble is available on demand.

Audit-ready records
for every release, defensible to Joint Commission, HIPAA, and internal audit.
Analysts have shifted from execution-heavy work to clinical optimization and transformation. The program is now the internal model for enterprise platform change management.
